Mongolia has more than 32 million sheep and 29 million goats. The sheep are well equipped to withstand low temperatures (-40°C), adverse ecological conditions and persistent drought. This is especially evident in their wool. The wool of Mongolian sheep is rough and very suitable for making rugs. In fact, it is known for its warm properties and durability.
In addition to white sheep, there are beige, light brown, gray and dark brown sheep in Mongolia. The colours are important and workers sort the sheep’s wool into five different natural colours. After this, workers wash the wool without adding chemical dyes and/or other artificial chemicals.

The carpet manufacturing process is cost-effective and toxin-free. No expensive chemical dyes and/or other expensive chemicals are used, water, steam and electricity are also saved. The result is an eco-friendly and organic carpet.
Dyed or chemically treated wool loses its natural properties and its quality is reduced. The Chingghis collection does not contain dyed or chemically treated wool. It is strong, durable and the color will not fade because of the sun. Organic wool provides warmth, purges itself clean again and stains wear off over time.
